Once upon a time...

there was a girl who avoided cooking with profound determination.  I would begrudgingly clean kitchens, set tables, and fill water glasses but PLEASE MOM don't make me help cook.  I had no interest in it and would have rather had my nose in a book anytime, any day.  Now I find myself not only interested but calling my Mom on an almost daily basis asking about recipes and kitchen how to-s.  I am determined to find my niche in the kitchen and my staple recipes my family will love.  I want to learn to stretch my dollar and keep within our budget while remaining in our pants and shrinking our sizes.  My Mom, my Aunt Inez, my brother, my husband and even my Dad with his amazing home made biscuits all have some culinary item that is theirs that is requested family wide!  I am attempting to learn all the family recipes I grew up with and find some new ones through various resources on this journey.  So we will see if I can in fact, learn to cook :)
